Jevan Watkins Jones was artist in residence in Great Dunmow from October 2015 to February 2016.Over these five months Jevan met with many older residents in Great Dunmow and its neighbouring villages. He also ran a series of workshops in the Library; at Redbond Lodge Care Home, the Dunmow Gardening Club for people living with dementia, and at St. Mary’s Church & Riverbank. The project explored personal stories and our memories of favourite plants and gardens. Jevan has drawn together these stories and, working with Firebrand Creative, created the “Alternative Yellow Book”.
Copies of the beautifully designed limited edition artbook can be ordered by emailing us at info@highstileprojects.co.uk.

"It is a artistic document peculiar to Great Dunmow's social history at this moment in time and, as with a garden, both invention and truth simultaneously." Jevan Watkin Jones
A film was created by Jevan and Aura Films to accompany the book.
